This is the card that Hossein Ronaghi Maleki made for his mother. He gave it to me when I was being released so I could deliver it to his mother and he asked me to post a scanned copy of it on Facebook.
Hossein made this card on the second day of his hunger strike; He expressed how with this card he shows his great love for his mother while steadfast and determined to reach his goals and how he will gladly sacrifice his life in the journey towards freedom for his country.
A few days before he started his hunger strike when I insisted against it with consideration to his dire health, he responded,
“Is my blood more vibrant than that of Neda or Sohrab? This time I am taking a stand not only for my own legal rights, not for the illegal interference of the intelligence agencies with my court dossier, but for the freedom of all civil and political prisoners, for attaining the rights that every prisoner should legally have, so that I can carry the voice of every innocent prisoner to the ears of all the world’s people.”
Now as I remember the last night we had together until 3am, I can’t hold back my tears. My dear friends, Hossein is not feeling well at all. Recently he didn’t have the energy to make his usual smile. Last Wednesday he suffered from internal bleeding, he was excreting blood and dry heaving. These are disastrous conditions especially for a person who has only one kidney at 40% function. The only thing keeping him going was the power of his hope and conviction.
Yesterday Hossein started a dry hunger strike. His mother told me in a phone call that Hossein is not doing well.
Now as I am writing this, out of respect for his doctors thankfully he has agreed to stop his dry hunger strike but his father said Hossein is continuing his hunger strike.
I really don’t wish to say these things, but Hossein will not last long under these conditions.
Until the last moments we had together, Hossein asked me and emphasized one point to share with his friends and loved ones.
He made an appeal that we please do not abandon him in these conditions and to please support him in any way that we can.
این کارتی است که حسین رونقی برای مادرش درست کرده بود و آن را هنگام آزادی به من داد تا برسانم به دست مادرش و از من خواست که نسخه اسکن شده این کارت را در فیسبوک بگذارم.
این کارت را زمانی درست کرد که روز دوم اعتصابش بود و به قول خودش با این کارت، هم عشق به مادرش را نشان میدهد و هم اینکه او چقدر مصمم است برای رسیدن به اهدافش و با کمال میل حاضر است جان خودش را در راه آزادی کشورش فدا کند. چند روز قبل از اعتصابش در جواب من که اصرار داشتم برای حفظ سلامتیش دست به اعتصاب نزند، به من میگفت ” مگر خون من از ندا و سهراب رنگین تر است ؟ این بار ایستاده ام نه برای حق قانونی خودم، نه برای اعتراض به دخالتهای غیر قانونی نهادهای امنیتی در پرونده ام، بلکه برای آزادی همه زندانیان سیاسی و عقیدتی، برای رسیدن به حقوق قانونی که هر زندانی باید داشته باشد، برای اینکه صدای زندانی بیگناه را به گوش تمام مردم دنیا برسانم “. آلان که یاد شب آخری که تا ساعت 3 باهم بودیم میافتم نمیتوانم جلوی اشکهایم را بگیرم. دوستان عزیزم ، حسین اصلا حالش خوب نیست او دیگر این اواخر جان نداشت که مثل همیشه لبخند بزند، از چهارشنبه پیش خونریزی داخلی کرده بود، خون دفع میکرد ، سرفه هایش خشک شده بود و همه این شرایط برای کسی که فقط یک کلیه دارد که آن هم 40 درصد کار میکند فاجعه است فقط امیدش و ایمانش بود که سر پا نگاهش میداشت . از دیشب هم اعتصاب خشک کرده است مادرش تلفنی به من میگفت که حالش خوب نیست خواشبختانه آلان که دارم این پست را میزارم به احترام حرف پزشکان معالجش اعتصاب خشکش را شکسته است ولی پدرش میگفت حسین به اعتصاب تر خود ادامه خواهد داد. اصلا نمیخواهم این حرف را بزنم ولی حیسن با این شرایط نمیتواند زیاد دوام بیاورد. تنها چیزی که حسین تا لحظات آخر از من می خواست و تاکید داشت این بود که به دوستانش و شما عزیزان بگویم و درخواست نمایم که در این شرایط تنهایش نگذاریم و هر جور که میتوانیم حمایتش کنیم . امیدوارم خاطرات تلخ خرداد پارسال دوباره تکرار نشود.
